This week, we wanted to showcase the amazing company sponsoring the next activation coming up. Like I mentioned in my last blog, Mimo’s Coffee will be making a $5 donation to Coco Coalition for each post created.

If you haven’t heard of them, let me introduce you to these two amazing organizations. Mimo’s Coffee was born of the San Fran based Ethiopian spice and coffee shop: We Spice, which opened in 2016 and is owned by Mimo’s mother, Rahel. After having emigrated from Addis Ababa 20+ years ago, Rahel has been a long standing pillar of kinship and providing a slice of home for the Habesha community. Mimo, inspired by her mother's tenacity and drive, decided to start Mimo’s Coffee as a bridge between her heritage and home using the most notable Habesha cup of conversation: coffee. Mimo’s mission is to have people slow down and to enjoy coffee through coffee ceremony, and to have people know where their coffee comes from, providing hand selected, quality Ethiopian coffee. Through this mission she explores and shares true Ethiopian identity with an important cultural crop: coffee.

Coco Coalition was founded in 2015 with the commitment of creating safe spaces for female-identifying black women providing information and education about their rights, help process emotions, and access to community and mental health resources. The organization was born from the Black & Beautiful Women’s Brunch established in response to the horrible and saddening murder of Sandra Brown. Since then they have hosted nearly 40 events for black women, granted 13 scholarships to women, provided over 100 girls in Ghana with 400 packs of pads and 400 pairs of underwear to fight period poverty, and launched various community events and initiatives.

We are so excited here at Impactasnap to be partnering with these brands and are thrilled to highlight the amazing work they do. Supporting those people who are doing good work for others is imperative to fostering a strong community and lifting each other up. A resource to find other non-profits doing important work can be found at every.org, a directory of verified organizations.
