Hello and welcome to the very first official newsletter of Impactasnap! We’re so grateful you’re here and hope you will join our mission of changing the world one snap at a time. If you have no idea what we do and who we are we recommend heading to our blogs and catching up on some reading, and then come back here for our founding story. Now, before we start regaling you with the journey we’ve been on, we would like to mention a shift happening on our side. You currently know us as Impactasnap, but in the near future we will be having a name change. For now we’ll continue to use Impactasnap, but we will soon be known as Post on Purpose, or POP! A little easier to say, don’t you think? Aside from being easier, we feel this new name suits our move to be a community that posts on purpose, rather than just a platform that measures impact. Everything else we stand for remains the same, worry not, and get excited for April because we currently have two amazing activations scheduled with two amazing companies and non-profits.

It all started with an Instagram account and a Walmart campaign. Back in 2018, our founder Becca Ruiz, was inspired by Walmart’s Feeding America campaign where a $10 donation is made on behalf of each post created. From this concept, Impactasnap was born! The idea was simple, for a period of time a public challenge invites Instagram users to create a feed post or reel using the designated hashtag. With each post a donation is made by a brand sponsor, in this case, Walmart,r towards a non-profit. With this format, not everything is verifiable, traceable, and real. If you’ve ever felt helpless or lost in a sea of voices, Impactasnap now helps give a platform to each user to make a real donation with their content. Now, you can show your love and support in an easy, free way. Giving hasn’t been easier!

Becca has worked with several companies focusing on sustainability, social impact, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). In her 10+ years, she noticed the same broken pattern: CSR teams drive impact and marketing teams drive audiences, but they rarely drive together. Without working together, these brands were losing potential funding, engagement, and change. And so Impactasnap was built with the goal of aligning marketing and impact teams through shared campaigns and key performance indicators, while helping mission-driven organizations fundraise, track outcomes, and build community on Instagram.

The core barrier between small organizations and big business when it comes to collaborations and fundraising is the trust and access gap. It feels like an uphill battle for these organizations, frequently lacking essential resources and contacts to scale their impact, and these major brands desire to give back but often struggle with impact verification s and goal alignment. Money makes the world go round, and critiques of philanthropic work is that it’s just transactional, a one-time check and a press release or sustainability report buried in an inbox. Instead, Impactasnap functions as a platform providing visibility for both sides, partnership and connection to a wider audience, awareness, and authentic action. Rather than performative corporate advertising, Impactasnap drops a stone into the pool of social media creating a ripple effect of change.

We may be small, we may be new, but we have a goal, and the tenacity to make it to the top. We invite you on our journey where you’ll learn about amazing stories of people changing the world through their own creativity, and how you can be a part of the action. And the best part? It’s completely free, so you don’t have to worry about finances and whether your money is going where you want it. Instead, all you need to do is go to “create a new post” or reel in line with the campaign,, use the  campaign hashtags,  tag, and BAM! You’ve made a real donation to a vetted non-profit. Easy as pie, no behavior change, so really, even easier, like eating pie. We hope you will join us, let's make something worthwhile and powerful, let’s POP.
